How You Can Create 9.5 Million US Jobs and Save the US Economy

Create 9.5 million US jobs and save the US economy

Here is an easy solution to create many US Jobs and save the US economy.

The main problem that companies and employers have in the US is that there is too little demand for their products.

Another problem for the US economy is that we import more than that we export. In the first quarter of 2011, all together the US spent $119 billion more than that it received in the collective internal transactions.

Now here is the easy solution.

Change Your Spending with $159 per Month

We all make a minor change in the way we spend our money. You buy fewer goods that are imported and you buy more services and products that are produced in the US. And this is good for you. Buy less materialistic import stuff and more feel-good services.

But the problem is way too big, you may say. We cannot influence that. Now wait… let’s look at the numbers.

We need to spend $119 billion less on imported goods and more on local services and products per quarter. We are with 250 million adults in the US.

This is only $159 on averages per US adult per month. That sounds manageable.

OK, if you are dirt poor, you probably cannot change so easily the spending of $159 per month. But most of you can change much more.

Bring the US Unemployment Rate Down to Below 2.9%

Before we go to some examples on what you may spend your money, you might ask what the impact is on US jobs.

The median annual income per US adult is about $25,000. Per quarter this is $6,250.

Not let’s assume that only 50% of the $119 billion that we export less and spend more on local services and products benefits US jobs. This 50% pays for about 9.5 million jobs.

Wow, 9.5 million jobs. With currently 13.9 million unemployed and an unemployment rate of 9.1%, this would bring the unemployment rate down to below 2.9%.

Thus… do you realize that if we all spend $159 per month in a different way, we create together 9.5 million jobs and bring the unemployment rate down to 2.9%.

OK, this sounds really good. So what should I do, do you ask? Here are some ideas…
