Watch out if you sleep too few hours so you can work more
Submitted by stepfact on Thu, 2010/09/09 - 08:20How much sleep do you need on average every day? For me it is now definitely more than 10 or 20 years ago. I thought about this since last night I slept only three and half hours. That is clearly below what I need on average.
Twenty years ago when I was in my early twenties, I could go on for weeks or months with only a few hours sleep per night. I remember a summer break from the university. I worked the whole summer in shop selling jeans where I normally only worked during the weekend.
Starting the day with sentence completion from The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem
Submitted by stepfact on Wed, 2010/09/08 - 10:24Starting writing this blog post is not the first thing I do when I sit behind my computer in the morning at the start of the “working” day. I start with some sentence completion exercises. These are exercises I took from the book The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem.
How StrengthsFinder lead to writing this blog
Submitted by stepfact on Tue, 2010/09/07 - 10:17OK, here we go. Today I start this new blog. The idea is the following. Five times a week I will spend half an hour to write. There is no clear plan. I am not sure what I will write about. And I am not sure what I can write in half an hour almost every day.
The objective is that it becomes a routine; something that I do automatically; something that I enjoy. And I think I will enjoy this. I do that now already.
What is my service?
Submitted by stepfact on Sat, 2010/05/29 - 11:21A long time I have been looking and thinking about what I am really about. Currently I am reading The 7 Habits of Effective People. It can be a life changing book I think.
A quote from the chapter on Habit 7. 'Service is the rent we pay to live on earth".
I realized that the appropriate question to ask myself is "What is my service?" What do I strive for every day and with what should my actions be in line?
